The Greater Middlesex Conference, which re-aligns every two years in all sports, will go under a major overhaul in football. For the first time since the 1999 season, there will be four divisions. Of the 24 GMC schools who play football, nine will be playing in different divisions in 2006 and 2007.

The next cycle begins next season. Here's the new alignments, according to GMC football chairman Mike Wolfthal:

RED (8 TEAMS):
East Brunswick, Old Bridge, South Brunswick, Piscataway, Edison, J.P. Stevens, Woodbridge and Sayreville. Changes: North Brunswick moves down to White.

WHITE (6):
Perth Amboy, North Brunswick, New Brunswick, Colonia, South Plainfield and Carteret. Changes: North Brunswick comes down from the Red, Monroe, Spotswood and South River move down to the Blue.

BLUE (5):
Monroe, John F. Kennedy, Bishop Ahr, Spotswood and South River. Changes: Monroe, Spotswood and South River come down from the White, Middlesex, Metuchen, Highland Park, McCarrick and Dunellen move down to the Gold.
